about the

Association

The hazelnut growers bargaining association (HGBA) was established in 1972. The association was created to protect growers from predatory pricing and give the growers a voice in the prices they received. The HGBA is currently nearing 300 active members and growing at about 5% a year. The HGBA contracts to negotiate with cash Packers that represent an estimated 75% of today’s total crop.
